Harappa Curse of the blood River is written by Vineet Bajpai. The book starts with two parallel stories. One takes us to the 1700 BCE and other is narrating the present day i.e. 2017.
1700 BCE story lead character is Vivasvan Pujari and modern-day Protagonist is Vidyut. The story narration is good, which holds the reader attention till the end of the book. Both character lifestyle is different but only one thing tying them is their clan and both are Demi-God (half human half God). In 1700 BCE Harappa was the mightiest city on this earth and run by the Vedic culture and tradition. Vivasvan Pujari is about to announce chief priest of Harappa, Which is the most powerful position in Aryavarta those days. But fate has decided something terrible for him. Only relatives and friend conspire against you in jealousy and nothing else. In this case, our protagonist’s friend Pandit Chandradhar embroiled him in an abominable controversy. And he was sentenced to the Dark cellar of Harappa’s Mrit Kaaraavaas. He was innocent but now he wants to take vengeance for the injustice, not against a single person but the whole of Harappa Civilization.
On another story Vidyut was called to Vanaras due to the crucial time will arrive soon. This is a fictional book but the way of story plotting bound you to think, that in past decades maybe this is the reason for Harappa Civilization downfall. The vocabulary and grammar are too good. As it is a historical thriller I am not going details about the story. Because this may leave the reader curious to go forward the book. Now Indian author is focusing on a various theme to make a good book for readers and that is a positive sign. I like the mythological genre but this book catches my interest from the beginning of few pages.
I am eagerly waiting for the sequel to this book. I must say this book is value for money and reading worthy.
